> ClapSnap is a macOS menu bar app made by Karan Kartikeya. It opens your workspace apps on a double clap or snap and includes Air Mouse for hand-gesture cursor control. Everything runs on your Mac, and it is sold as a one-time purchase.

ClapSnap is built and maintained by Karan Kartikeya. It started from a simple wish: sit down at the Mac, clap twice, and have every app for the day open without reaching for the keyboard.

## What ClapSnap is

- A menu bar app for macOS 13 Ventura and later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
- A launcher that opens the set of apps you choose on a double clap or double snap, with a full-screen welcome overlay.
- [Air Mouse](/air-mouse), a hand-tracking cursor that works through your webcam.
- Private: audio and video are processed on your Mac and never stored or sent anywhere.
- A one-time purchase, pay what you want from €8, with a 14-day refund and lifetime updates.

## What ClapSnap is not

ClapSnap is not a general automation platform. If you need conditional macros, file rules or text expansion, tools like Keyboard Maestro, Hazel or Apple Shortcuts do that well, and they sit happily alongside ClapSnap. The [alternatives page](/alternatives) compares them honestly.
